Every platform, one upload
Pick where the image is going and it comes out at exactly the dimensions that platform expects — Instagram square, portrait and story, YouTube thumbnails and banners, Facebook posts and covers, X posts and headers, LinkedIn posts and banners, Pinterest pins, WhatsApp status, and profile pictures.
Why the right size matters
Uploading the wrong shape means the platform crops for you, and it crops from the centre without asking. Text near an edge disappears. A person standing at the side of a group photo is removed. A logo in a corner is gone.
Uploading at the right size means you decide what is in frame. Uploading at the right resolution also means the platform re-compresses less — an oversized image gets scaled down and re-encoded, and that second compression is where quality visibly goes.
Cover or pad
Cover fills the frame and crops the overflow from the centre. Right when the subject is central and you want the whole frame used.
Pad fits the entire image and fills the remainder with a colour. Right when nothing can be lost — a graphic with text at the edges, a full-width photo, a chart.
Banners are the hardest
Cover images and channel banners display at different crops on phone, tablet and desktop, and the safe area is much smaller than the full canvas. Keep anything essential well inside the middle — the edges of a banner are visible on desktop only.

Common questions
Why not just upload the original?
The platform crops from the centre without asking, and re-compresses. Sizing first means you choose the framing.
Cover or pad?
Cover when the subject is central. Pad when nothing can be lost — graphics with text at the edges.
Why do banners look wrong?
They crop differently on phone, tablet and desktop. Keep anything essential well inside the middle.
Which size for a YouTube thumbnail?
1280×720, which the preset uses.
Is my image uploaded?
No, it is resized in your browser.
