Resize an image
Change an image's dimensions — fit, fill, exact or by percentage.

Four ways to resize, and why the difference matters
Most resizers take a width and a height and then quietly ignore one of them. Ask for 400×400 and you get 400×100, with no explanation. That is the single most common complaint about free image tools, and it happens because the tool preserves the aspect ratio without saying so.
Here you choose, and the tool does exactly what you chose:
- Fit keeps the shape and fits it inside your box. A 1200×300 image asked to fit 400×400 becomes 400×100. Nothing is cropped, nothing is distorted.
- Fill covers the whole box and crops the overflow. The same image becomes exactly 400×400, with the left and right edges cut off. This is what profile pictures and thumbnails need.
- Exact stretches to precisely the numbers you typed, distorting the picture if the shape does not match. Occasionally that is genuinely what you want.
- Pad fits the whole image inside the box and fills the gaps with a background colour, so nothing is cropped and the output is exactly your dimensions.
- Percentage scales both sides by the same factor.
It runs on your device
Resizing happens in your browser on a canvas. The image is never uploaded, which also makes it instant — there is no round trip to wait for.
Enlarging
You can scale up, but no tool invents detail that was never captured. Doubling a 200-pixel image gives you a 400-pixel blurry image. If you need genuine enlargement, that is a different job requiring an upscaling model.
Formats and transparency
Leave the format as "same" and a PNG stays a PNG, a JPEG stays a JPEG. If you convert a transparent PNG to JPEG, the transparent areas are filled with your chosen background colour, because JPEG has no alpha channel — without that step they would come out black.
Common questions
Why did my image come out a different height than I asked for?
You were in Fit mode, which preserves the shape. Use Exact for the precise numbers, or Fill to crop to them.
Does resizing reduce quality?
Making an image smaller is essentially lossless to the eye. Making it larger cannot add detail that was never there.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It is resized in your browser and never leaves your device.
Can I resize several images at once?
Yes — the bulk resizer applies the same settings to a whole batch.
What happens to transparency?
It is kept for PNG and WebP. Converting to JPEG fills transparent areas with your background colour, since JPEG cannot store alpha.
Is there a maximum size?
Up to 100 megapixels, which covers any camera you are likely to be using.
