Fixing sideways pages
Landscape pages that display on their side, a scan fed in the wrong way, a stack where every other sheet is upside down. Rotating turns them the right way up and saves that orientation into the file, so it stays fixed for whoever opens it next.
This is the difference between rotating in a PDF reader and rotating here. A reader's rotate button usually changes only your view; close the file and it is sideways again. This writes the rotation into the document.
Rotation accumulates
The angle you choose is added to whatever rotation a page already carries, rather than replacing it. A page already turned 90 degrees, rotated by 90 again, ends up at 180. This is worth knowing when a document arrives with pages already at different angles: applying 90 to everything preserves the differences between them rather than flattening them.
Only the pages that need it
The pages field takes ranges, which is what makes the common case tractable — a report where only the wide tables and charts are landscape. Type 4, 9-11 and the text pages are left alone.
For the every-other-page problem from a scanner, a range like 2-20 combined with running the tool twice usually gets there faster than listing pages individually.
Nothing is re-rendered
Rotation sets an attribute on the page rather than redrawing it. Text stays selectable, quality is untouched and the file size does not change. It is one of the few PDF edits that is completely free.
It runs on your device
Under 250 MB this happens in your browser with no upload.
Order of operations
If pages are both out of sequence and sideways, reorder first with Organize PDF and rotate afterwards — the page numbers you type will then refer to the positions you can actually see.
Common questions
Why does my reader forget the rotation?
A reader's rotate button usually changes only the view. This writes the rotation into the file so it persists.
Can I rotate only some pages?
Yes, the pages field accepts ranges like 4, 9-11.
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. It sets an attribute rather than redrawing the page, so nothing changes and the file size stays the same.
What if pages are already at different angles?
Rotation is added to what is there, so the differences between pages are preserved.
Is my file uploaded?
Not under 250 MB — it is processed in your browser.
Should I rotate or reorder first?
Reorder first, so the page numbers you type match what you see.
